Zoo is currently working to create the UmPhafa Private Nature Reserve
in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. The land purchase is now being finalised
for three adjacent cattle farms which will be combined to form a 20,000
Acre private nature park.
The park is ideally located in a malaria free area 2 hours from Durban
and 3 hours from Johannesburg in an area rich in Zulu history. Uniquely
the land covers a 1200 foot gradient from the banks of the Tugela River
to the top of the hills creating a diverse range of ecosystems including
open grassland and bushveldt.
The UmPhafa Private Nature Reserve has set out its mission, “to
create a sustainable future while maintaining social responsibility and
promoting environmental regeneration and conservation”
