Umphafa has several education goals

• To give local children the opportunity to learn about the indigenous wildlife in their area

• To educate the local farmers on more sustainable farming techniques which minimize their impacts on the local ecosystem.
  
  
• To raise awareness of the endangered status of many species found at Umphafa.
  
  
• To raise awareness of the problem of introduced non native plants and how to control them.
  
  
• To raise awareness within the local community of the conservation issues facing many species in their region and practical action which can minimize their impact on wildlife populations.
